Barco Silex is a micro-electronic design house belonging to the Belgian Barco electronic group and having its office in Belgium in Louvain-la-Neuve, close to the Belgian capital Brussels.
Barco Silex also has a design center in France in the region of Aix-en Provence.

DO254 was developed by the avionics industry to establish hardware design guidelines for developers when hardware is deployed in aircraft equipment designs.
